Doing Scientific Research
When scientists do science – they do it by conducting experiments. The experiments are done for a reason. That means that there is a reason or an aim the scientist has for the experiment.
The first part / step of doing an experiment is writing the “Aim”. This is the “why” of the experiment.
Part two is called the “Hypothesis”. This is a statement about what you think your experiment will or must achieve. Conducting the experiment leads to discovering if your hypothesis is true or untrue / false.
Part three is where the “Equipment” that will be used is described.
Part four is a detailed description of the “Method” of doing or conducting the experiment.
Part five is where the “Results” of the experiment are gathered and looked at / interpreted.
Part six is where the results are used to write a “Conclusion” about. If the hypothesis was true / untrue. |
