Haere mai and welcome to Elim Christian College.
It a pleasure to introduce you to our school - unique in its context and character. A state-integrated school for New Entrants to Year 13, we currently have a roll of 550 including over 50 international students.
We offer a vibrant learning community educating and impacting the whole person - intellectually, socially, physically and spiritually. Through the vision of our Proprietors the Elim Christian Centre we have superb facilities and the ability to facilitate growth. Through our Board of Trustees we have influential direction. Through our staff we inspire student achievement of the highest degree and through our students we significantly contribute to every sphere of society.
Campus Location
Situated in the suburb of Botany Downs, the college is close to Botany Downs town centre and approximately 20 minutes drive from Auckland city centre. 5 beaches are within 10 minutes drive as well as beautiful parks and walk-ways.
Facilities
The college is at the rear of the Elim Christian Centre site on Botany Road. The new Administration block was built two years ago, as was the library which is open as a homework hub with tutoring available to students from Monday to Thursday each school week during term time. Technology is taught to intermediate and secondary students off site at local schools. Students are transported by bus each week. The college has an art room with a photography dark room, an ICT suite and multi-media room, and a large gymnasium. Assemblies and special events are held in the Auditorium of the Elim Christian Centre.
Arts/Sports
Performing arts are strong at Elim Christian College, with opportunities for students to participate in a range of activities, including a school concert band, school worship team, annual performing arts evening and various other events which take place throughout the year. Itinerant music tutors are employed and students may take advantage of very reasonably priced tuition in a range of musical instruments.
An area of land near-by has recently been allocated to the college, and from 2008 it is planned to transport students regularly to and from the land for sports. 3 part-time sports coordinators are currently employed and there are also a variety of extracurriculum sporting events taking place regularly throughout the year.
